Sutopia truly felt like coming home. Both the location and the people who run it are fantastic. So much happened during my stay in Suriname, and Lieke, Janneke, and Dick were always there for me. I'm sure this wasn't my last time at Sutopia!
Oh, and don't forget their own tours through Unlocked Nature, where you can truly explore the uncharted territory of Suriname. Keep it up, guys!

Sutopia truly felt like coming home. Both the location and the people who run it are fantastic. So much happened during my stay in Suriname, and Lieke, Janneke, and Dick were always there for me. I'm sure this wasn't my last time at Sutopia!

Wow! What a place! We absolutely loved our stay here. From the minute we arrived to the moment we left, we were so well taken care of. Nothing was too much effort to make our stay a memorable one.
We were here for 2 nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The room was beautifully decorated to welcome us for this occasion, a really lovely touch. We stayed in room number 6 which was fully kitted with AC, stocked kitchen (tea, coffee, sugar, cooking oil salt, pepper etc). The included breakfast was lovely consisting of fresh bread, butter, cheese, fresh eggs from the onsite hens and yoghurt. Each lodge has a porch out front with 2 chairs and a table. It was lovely to sit there in the peaceful surroundings listening to the birds and other wildlife.
The restaurant and bar area is super relaxed. The bar is honesty based - you take a drink and mark it on a chalk board. There are books and games for you to use. We enjoyed a meal in the restaurant one night which was very well prepared and delicious. We are happy to hear that the menu is being expanded in the near future. There is also a BBQ that you can use if you like which we did one night.
There are some very relaxed and calm dogs on the loose. they are super cute and will come and sit at your feet and keep you company. Out the back there is a large chicken coop and also a small hut enclosing some rescued boa constrictors. We were fortunate enough to be able to handle one of them with Matt, one of the snake handlers - a real treat! Then further down the path is a viewing deck over looking the Suriname River. A beautiful vista with some benches to soak it up. All in all, we loved our short stay at Sutopia Holiday Resort. The booking and communication was made super easy with Lieke and our welcome and care with Christel was excellent. Thank you all at Sutopia Holiday Resort! See you again soon.

I loved everything about this place!!! The rooms were quaint and very comfortable with air conditioning and a stocked pantry/fridge with all necessary goods (i.e. chocolate spread, peanut butter, eggs and cheese). The dining area was fabulous with record player, sofas, and an honesty bar. The meals cooked there were superb with great veggie options. Staff was delightful and the hammocks were great after hikes and canoeing, along with a book from the lending library. I loved the artistic setting and palpable love/respect of nature. The chickens, snakes, and flora all added to make this place an unforgettable oasis.
The guides were phenomenal and all had their unique style. Don was one of my favorites with his keen eye, wicked smarts, and great sense of humor; and he was very diplomatic and kind when I screamed out loud when a leaf fell on my head and I thought it was a spider. Or again when I thought grass wrapped around my boot was a snake. Ash’s passion and curiosity felt contagious, and no question felt foolish to ask . Both were extremely knowledgeable regarding the flora and fauna of the jungle. Leike felt like an old friend immediately and I miss her good humored nature and pleasant disposition. Same for the phenomenal chefs. (Sadly I forgot their names).
I can’t speak highly enough about this place and hope to make it back soon.

Went there for two nights initially. The rooms were perfect and the staff so friendly, relaxt and helpful that we used Sutopia a few more times to relax after an intense jungle experience. The jungle of Peperpot is only a ten minute walk from there so you can easily keep spotting wildlife which made it perfect.

Een hele fijne locatie om te verblijven. De hosts Dick en Lieke doen enorm hun best om je verblijf zo goed mogelijk te maken.
De appartementen zijn fijn, een mooie tuin rondom en de staff is zeer vriendelijk (SO naar Soraya!).

Enorme aanrader! Hele fijne plek, super mooie locatie. Ingericht en geschikt voor alle leeftijden. Fijne ongedwongen sweer, goed eten, grote kamers met keuken, gezellige gezamenlijke ruimtes met hangatten om te relaxen, interessante boeken om te lezen beschikbaar, goed personeel en enthousiaste en ondernemende eigenaren. Daarnaast veel opties om verschillende tours te doen. Wat ons betreft een must-visit in Suriname.

Stopped here on the way to Peperpot for a few drinks. Lovely terras, very nice and friendly staff.
They have variety of interesting (fruit) trees in the garden. Laid back atmosphere and I hear the rooms are super comfortable. Certainly worth a visit!

Sutopia is een heerlijke plek in een oase van rust. Lieke en Dick zijn super gastvrij en behulpzaam. De buiten binnen huiskamer nodigt uit tot gezelligheid met de andere gasten of de eigenaren, waarbij je een drankje kan drinken uit de koelkast of een van de spelletjes kan spelen. Als je wil verzorgen ze ook nog de meest bijzondere tours. De kamers zijn schoon en ruim en voorzien van eigen kookgelegenheid. Peperpot is super dichtbij en Dick en Lieke kunnen je er alles over vertellen of een tour voor je regelen. Wij vonden het jammer dat we maar twee nachten hadden geboekt en zouden zeker terugkomen.

Unique place in a unique and very practical location! Extremely hospitable owners, nice rooms fully equipped and a wonderfully relaxed and cozy courtyard. Nice pool also to cool off. Also good food.

At the resort there is a hammock hut on stilts where you have a beautiful view over the Suriname River.
The resort is also suitable for a quick trip to the jungle. For a small fee you can take a walk through peperpot to enjoy the flora and fauna. If you want to make even more use of it, you can of course book a tour through Unlock nature, which is definitely recommended to see even more of this beautiful country.
We really enjoyed this holiday and it is certainly worth repeating because there is so much more to see in Suriname.
